Thailand - Day 3 - 23/11/04

No water in the room, disaster, but i'm not feeling too bad.



Hym0rs is DEAD. Total holo. He's just left this mall we are in to get a taxi back to the hotel!!!



Taxi journy from hell to get to ths mall in the first place! The bloke was a suicidal driver, Hym0rs was in the front and could easily have died in the process of getting to the mall.

Erm, this'll be me beside a random fountain then. ;) 




Went for a walk along Sukhumvit road after Hym0rs had left the party and ended up walking for miles, this is Ferry Road x 100. Stopped off at the Pita Place for lunc - nice - but not enough. Meanwhile Hym0rs is giving it the big Colin Shivers back in the room i'm sure.

This is possibly the worst drink ever though - Lime/Mint shake from Pita Place. :( 




Back to the Hotel - out for evening meal - still no Hym0rs - he's really dead - there have been stories of puking and dark rooms with face cloths on foreheads!



PatPong was visited - woah there tiger, never seen anything like it, way 'worse' than A'dam. Must have been about 100 women to a man over there. Was good to get a look at it though.

Meal was bobbins - Chicken Paremsan - yuk. Lots of qestionable characters in the place as well. Bonus - bought a Kappa top on the way back - nicely done - something like 2 bux.



Some chopper called J Campbell is living in the same hotel as me - the staff got confused and stuck through an envelope for him under our door - i feel that the staff on reception are going to be happy to see me go!!!



No significant Burnsie purchases to report either.

Thailand - Day 2 - 22/11/04

Up and out no-where near as early as wed hoped, Burn was troubled with the jetlag - up during the night for two hours - 10am wake up call from Hym0rs. Tube.



Got a tuk-tuk through the busy streets of bangkok. Wanting to go to the Central World Plaza but of course were taken to the tailors and the jewlers on route - seems to happen to us quite a lot!! Thought about a trendy suit from the tailors but ended up not bothering - no-one else was interested either.



Got to the plaza did a bit of shopping, didn't buy anything cept a yellow umbro t-shirt for 2 quid! Burn got shoes for like 3 quid or something, excellente. Cheeky MacDs as well. Get this - double cheeseburger meal - 89baht, that's like 1.20 or something! Amazing stuff.

Back to the hotel - got changed and then a taxi journey to the night bazarr. Lots and lots (and lots) of stalls for the girlies to go and look at, me and Hym0rs stayed in the food court area (bought 13 quids worth of vouchers for food and beer) drank the night away - didn't realise until later (much later) the local ale was 6.4% proof. Total blotto apparently, as the girls didn't have much to drink.



Back to the hotel - a bit of boogying in the room until 1.20 or something like that. Not good. Hangover to come???

Thailand - Day 1 - 21/11/04

Got changed - went out walking in the local area - lots of stalls and shops n' stuff, ended up in a chinese restaurant - got lemon chicken - shock. Was better than any i've had in the UK though. Lovely, lovely, lovely. A few Singha Beers later - boom snip - back to the hotel for some beers on the 37th floor where the trendy night club is.



Campbell was wearing shorts and couldn't get in, so i was sent back to the room to get a pair of trousers on, burn and the others went in for a drink. Fair enuff.



We were in room 2909 (29th floor) and it is a card entry system , stoobie the card in the slot and the door opens, take card out again, sort of thing. Burn had a problem with her card when we first arrived, but we sussed it. So, back i go to the room - stoobied the card in the slot, no worky. Tried again, for a full 10 minutes - all different angles all different combinations of stoobie. Nothing. So, i thought, having been away for, like, 15 mins, that Burn would come and get me to see what the problem was - obviously i couldn't go up to the 37th floor cause i wasn't allowed in, and i didn't fancy going to reception and explaining the card situ. Yeah, i'd sit tight and wait for burnsie.



15 mins later (that's 25 in total) nothing. I got back again and try the door. Nope.



I bit the bullet and go down to the reception area and explain the me card no worky. She re-programs it for room 2909 and i trot off back up in the lift, speaking to a bellboy as i do this. I get out and go along to the room, stoobie the card in - YES, i'm in, it works. Only trouble is - it's the wrong bloomin room!!!! Not only that - it's actually Hym0rs and Fi's room!!! I've made a total backside of it, been trying to get in their room (2909) instead of ours (2609)!!!!! What a numpty. So i go back down in the lift again (meeting and confusing the bellboy once again) to reception and try to explain my way out of that one!!!! Back up to the 26th floor - back into the room where Burn is waiting wondering what the hell is going on. Couldn't stop laffing about the entire incident.



Eventually got myself together had a few drinks and that was that.

Thailand - Day 0 - 20/11/04 (Flight)

Sitting in an internet cafe typing up this blog and i'm on a strict timelimit. Didn't bring my usb cable today so no photos to upload. Only taken about 10 anyway.



The flight down to London went without any hitches, had a few hours to kill in Heathrow which was fine, won on puggy, which wasn't so good as was trying to spend the change i had :(



Gutted on the flight to Thailand with EVA Air - no small tellies on the back of the chairs in front :( Didn't matter - had seen all the movies bar one of them before anyway. Slept like a baby for most of the flight, no-one in front of me, no-one behind. Seat back - Lovely, lovely, lovely!!



Meals were weird, got some food at about 11pm GMT, then some more early morning 21/11 GMT, but of course, that was tea time in thai, so it was beef for breakfast!! Weird as!



Checked the bags in at Edinburgh didn't see them until Bangkok. Miracle they got here imho.



Had a bit of an underwear disaster - didn't have enough pairs to take with me - ended up wearing my thermal undies to travel in. Not good when it's 30C in bangkok.



Bangkok airport was something else - total conjestion - got ourselves in the taxi cue and into two separate taxis to the Sofitel Silom - long journey to get there, airport is 30 km to the north of bangkok.



Smog galore in the city. Excellent place though - areas remind me of Singapore - locals can't do enough for you.

starj - hungover as a dog after funeral down south.

c9ck - having a holo - total communication meltdown and M&Ms were broken out.

hym0rs - still not done the comp, but he's promised to do it. His shorts arrived at Jintys

coco - nothing to report - exams are pending. not a good time for him on the steve cram.

Work

A day of little interest, big meeting on the DB Proposition - more work for me to do no doubt on the timelines and the functionality.

Finally got myself into a position to start looking at TMA02 tonight, had to make sure that i was adding to the discussions on OLT2 and 3 before we go to thailand.
