Uni - M150 again

Just got my letter through confirming some of the marks on my course. Stark realisation of my 'achievements' here:

1) Ongoing assesments - 85% as stated - happy with that

2) Final exam - multi choice element - 79% overall, that's 15/19, one question void. happy with that indeed.

3) Final exam - disertation - although i haven't received notication (and i wont) i reckon that this must have been 37% to work out the overall 58% ecam mark! NOT HAPPY with that mark, need to work harder on my skills there!

Uni - M150

Well, yesterday i got my results for the 1st course of my Degree. I passed.

Ongoing Assestment = 85%, needed 40%.

Examable Component = 58%, needed 40%.

Not entirely happy with my Examable element, would have liked to get over 65%, but it's a pass and a good start to the course.

Should hear about my 2nd TMA in T171 very soon as well.

Jetlag

Well, managed to sleep to 8.30 ish on our first day back (yesterday), but today i was up before 5am :( Seems that i haven't managed to kill it. :(

Thailand - Day 17 - 07/12/04

Taxis to the Airport for our 13.25 flight to London Heathrow. We are scheduled to get in to Heathrow at 7pm GMT so that makes it a 12 hr flight :( Not looking forward to it. Not looking forward to the meals either, so we decide to stock up on a KFC double meal (nikki) combo before we go.

The flight itself was ok - no problems. Watched the following:

a) The Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement (very poor)

b) The Bourne Supremacy (good, but seen it before)

c) Thunderbirds (poor, very poor)

d) King Arthur (decent but again, seen it before)

This passed the time quite well, but by 7pm i was struggling to stay awake, that would have been 2am in Bangkok.

Had to switch from Terminal 3 to 1 at Heathrow for the 8.35 flight back up to Edinburgh, which was delayed for 20 mins. Managed to get 20 mins of interupted sleep on that flight before landing at Edinburgh.

Home by 11.30pm, which again was 6.30am Bangkok time. Total goosed, but stayed up longer to watch the Champions League highlights before hitting the sack at 12.30, so on the go for a total of 24hrs! Let the jetlag commence!

Thailand - Day 16 - 06/12/04

Well, it's our final full day in Bangkok and this has been designated - shop till you srop day at any Mall that takes our fancy.

It's off to the MBK centre for 10am but we are a bit early so it's brekkie at Star Bucks, which is a shame because we were hoping there was a breakfast menu at MacDonalds!

Anyway - i picked up some more addidas and umbro t-shirts for my burgoning running carear while i was there.

I've never felt so dead in the process though, i had to sit down on the escalators i was so knacked!!!

Was glad to get back to the Sofitel and then it was out for a walk back along Silom Road to PatPong for another gander and for the benefit of Hym0rs who was ill when we came along here the last time.

Back to the Chinese that we were at on the very first evening for another lemon chicken - boy it was nice!

That's on the menu in the Chinese place! Posted by Hello

Thailand - Day 15 - 05/12/04

Okay it's back to Bangkok today via Phuket Airport - so the speedboat came to get us at 9am then it's a 30min drive to the Airport in the north of Phuket island. This is great having all your transfers included!! What a price!

Phuket Airport was pretty sparse, but the massage chairs were something to behold!!!

The massage chairs were pretty painful to say the least!! Posted by Hello

Shaz didn't fair any better either! Posted by Hello

After we got back to the Sofitel (aahhh the Sofitel how nice!!) it was around 4.30pm so we planned to go the night bazaar so the girlies could have more shopping time, a litlle earlier.

It was a chore for me, going round all those little stalls, they all sell the same thing as well!

Hym0rs and I went to sit in the food court, until the girls came back around 10.30. After that, Shaz still wasn't happy that she had got all she wanted so she went back around the shops for an hour whilst i was left on me own (Hym0rs and Fi got a taxi back to the Sofitel) watching the 0-0 slug between Hinckley Town and Brentfors in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup!! GREAT!

Thailand - Day 14 - 04/12/04

Burnsie thought it would be a great idea to go to the pool today - seeing as it was difficult to sunbathe on your front on the beach. Turns out the place was free of people to the max, ie, we were the only one's there.

Nice pool though. A little back from the beach - so no breeze.

Never mind.

A pic of the pool at Coral Island. Sort of. Posted by Hello

Ah now this is better, this is the shady part of the beach - where i spent most of my time. Notice, there is hardly anyone there! Posted by Hello

Burnsie and Fi had massage number 2 and Campbell wrapped up the best of 101 frames pool competition by coming from behind to whooop Hym0rs 51-43.

Thailand - Day 13 - 03/12/04

Our first full day at Coral Island - up for brekkie - a wee walk and suss out the water sport activities - it's decided that we will walk on the ocean floor and check out the coral and the fish! What if an Octopus comes to get us? Grrrr.

Mr Hym0rs has taken a frame advantage at 39-38 in the Pool Comp - final session tomorrow.

Had our meal under cover as it rained that evening - then moved to the front of our room to play several rounds of cards - Hym0rs was knacked, compounded by the uncomfy chairs!

The others tucked into the bottle of vodka that i won for finishing third in the pool comp.

Thailand - Day 12 - 02/12/04

Well, it's off to Coral Island today - and what a journey - superb ride on the Speed Boat - around 15 mins to the Island itself.

First impressions? PARADISE. Total honeymoon destinatation. There is no fornt door to the hotel - it's one beach and that's it, nothing else on the island apart from a few beach side cafes for the people that visit there during the day. One pool table and one TV (for the whole resort!).

The rooms are lovely and are right on the beach. Totally superb! That's all i can say.

The restaurant in the hotel (on the beach again!) is looking good, menu is just fine and dandy for me as well.
