Day 1 – Friday 21st October 2005

Arrived at Bangkok around 3.30pm Bangkok time, bit tired, but just glad to be away from the Welsh idiots – I think I got the most sleep out of everyone at around 3 hours. Had to wait for an hour to get through immigration, some problem with Hym0rs alleged friendship with Gary Glitter I believe, but we got the cases (which I still think is a minor miracle seeing as we said goodbye to them in Edimborgo!

Met the driver guy – Pong – he was pre-booked to take us to Hua-Hin, 2.5 hrs away on the Gulf of Thailand coast. No sooner had we set off and Burnsie was snoozing away in the back seat of the mini bus. I think all of us managed a bit of kip, but Hym0rs was up giving it the old hawk-eye checking what was going on etc.

Arrived at the Hotel – looks very nice – straight up to the rooms, just one minor disaster when it was thought that we were looking for a twin, but some quick studio engineering sorted that all out. Reception bloke was a Man U fan, not enamoured by my hibby strip. Decided that it wasn’t worth going that night and just kipped to get rid of the jetlag.

As per last year’s disaster with the room key and wrong room thingy, I am keeping my wits about me and making sure I get the correct room!

Plus point though – I brought the laptop! Easier to blog things now! There’s a net connection in the room but its way too expensive, there’s also a wireless connection near the lobby but it’s also expensive, so we’ll just head in with the blog saved to a .doc to update via a usb flash drive memory stick in Hua-hin centre ;)
